Obtaining approval and budget for the wellness program

Please read this section carefully before commencing the assessment tasks. You must carefully answer every question of every task and achieve a ‘satisfactory’ grade for all assessment activities to be found Competent for the unit.

There are two (2) outcomes of assessments:

S = Satisfactory

NS = Not Satisfactory (required to be re-submitted).

Students will be awarded C = Competent on completion of the unit when the student has provided the appropriate evidence required to meet all criteria of both assessments. If the student fails to meet this requirement they will receive the result NC = Not Competent and will be eligible to be re-assessed.

Research and explain (minimum 5) various employee health issues that affect the manufacturing industry or the industry in which you are establishing your business (Hint:For example a workplace health issue could be stress)[minimum of 100 words]

The various issues that might affect to the health of an individual are:

• Sleep Deficiency– Too less sleep can be the prime factor for the various kind of negative effects for the health of individuals. This would lead to the fact that the individual would not get enough energy for performing their work.
• Changes in Metabolism Rate – Sitting while working in the workplace might lead to severe negative impacts on the changes in the rate of metabolism within humans.
• Alcohol Consumption – High consumption of alcohol could lead to low form of interest within the workplace (Schnall et al. 2018). This could lead to tremendous form of health issues and also effect the culture of work.
• Mental Health Stability– Improper mental health growth stability might be leading to stress and other negative implications on an individual’s health.
• Diabetes – High sugar content in blood of an individual might be leading to low productivity and fatigue nature in the culture of workplace.

Explain how these 5 health issues could impact on the business (Hint:Explain the negative effect these issues could have on your business. For example, high employee absenteeism) (minimum of 20 words per issue)

1. a) The wellness program aims at teaching employees about the ways in which employees would be able to align their goals based on future endeavors.

1. b) The wellness program would also consider different financial factors.

1. c) The goal of the wellness program is also to develop the skills of the employee in order to aid them in performing well within the workplace or business environment.

1. Research and describe the various options you could use in the business for the improvement of employee health and wellbeing (Hint:Wellness options could be anything that will improve employee’s physical and mental health. For example, you might decide to implement “longer work breaks” to increase employee satisfaction) [At least 5 wellness options, minimum of 30 words per option]

How will you obtain approval and get senior management to pay for your wellness plan options above? – (How will you get management to approve the budget for the program)?

• Prepare a presentation planfor how you would present this wellness program for approval from senior management.
• List the stakeholders that you would need to consider.
• Attach at least 4 PowerPoint slides that you would use for the presentation.  – This is a sales presentation to get management to invest in your wellness program.

1. Section B – From your research in Section A, create an employee health and wellbeing initiative for your business with the following areas included

Planning. Choose the top 3-wellness options from Section A and complete the following sections.

1. Administration Structure  –

1. Marketing Strategy (Hint:How will you market your wellness program to your employees?)[Minimum 50 words]

The program on healthcare wellness would be helpful for the enhancement of advertising of high qualities that are found within individuals. The organisation should distribute free samples or leaflets that would help in promotion of the program. This would also increase the participation of other people to attending the wellness program.

iii. Evaluation Method (Hint: How will you evaluate your wellness program? What statistics and feedback will you look at? – (How will you know if it is successful) [Minimum of 50 words]

The evaluation of the program for wellness of the employees will be done by evaluating their capabilities of knowledge. The wellness program designed for employees would be on the obligation for businesses and thus also aim to promote the work culture. Proper conducting of reviews will be performed after the entire completion of the wellness program.

1. Continuous Improvement System (Hint:How will you keep improving the program? Explain the continuous improvement process you will follow. [Minimum 50 words]

Different results would be found based on the proper conduction of surveys after the wellness program. Based on this, the management within the organisation would be able to understand employee concerns. They would then implement best strategies for improving efficiency of workplace scenario (Savino and Mazza 2014). The continuous form of improvement system would majorly impact the training environments of the program for the wellness of employees.

Implementation and Administration

1. Prepare and provide company policy documents for the program delivery of each of your wellness options.

 (Hint: When writing your policy, think of it as writing rules about your wellness program. You will need to create policies for all parts of your wellness program) [minimum 150 words]

Class Policies:

Policy 1:  Access to program center should be entirely be based on a magnetic swipe card. The card would validate the employee during entry time. The entire duration during training program would be covered. The company would not hold any kind of responsibility if any kind of problem would occur during accessing the facility. 

Policy 2: Proper kind of attire during the time of workout is a disciplinary rule that should be strictly followed by the individuals. Based on the wearing of the attire, the employees should be allowed access within the training center. This would also ensure a proper training environment.

Policy 3: The employees should be supplied with an instruction guide that would detail the entire processes that would be imparted during the training period (McCoy et al. 2014). The instruction guide would also discuss about the severe and strict instructions that should be followed by each of the employees within the training environment.

2) System of setting program milestones / monitoring. (Hint: Milestones are important goals in the development of something. For example, a milestone for your wellness program could be to “A reduction of employee stress by 10%”) [Include at least 3 milestones for your program. These milestones can be based on your goals from Section A, Q3]
