The primary objective of emerging bio-metric technology was to authenticate the identity of an individual by scanning finger print or identifying the DNA sequence by using the blood cells. As a result, the rate of duplicate identity and fraud cases were highly reduced initially. After that this particular technology had faced innumerable challenges in maintaining security due to the increased level of dummy fingers along with copied finger print. However, in order to overcome this kind of issue the bio-metric company has introduced new strategy and policy for rendering an innovation within the biometric technology. Large number of companies intends to use a wearable wrist band that can authenticate the heartbeat of an individual. This kind of innovative technology has reduced the rate of risk factors. This specific study has focused to make an in-depth overview about the impact of bio-metric technology in maintaining the security of business organization.

It has been observed in last ten years that large number of business organizations fail to maintain their performance level due to the late entry and early departure of employees. At the same time, innumerable fraud cases used to occur at the workplace of business organizations. One individual intended to send log in report on behalf of others. As a result, the business managers failed to keep a proper track on the overall performance level of every individual categorically (Unar, Seng & Abbasi, 2014). In order to overcome this kind of situation, business organizations have decided to render biometric technology within business process with the help of which the identification of an individual can be authenticated properly. After the emergence of biometric technology business organizations were able to increase their level of security. At the same time, it is also undeniable that this particular technology is possessed with major negative impact as well. This specific study has provided an in-depth overview about the positive and negative impact biometric technology in maintaining the security of business organizations. Different eminent scholars have provided their own opinion regarding impact of biometric technology in enhancing organizational security (Morosan, 2012). The author has provided both positive and negative impact of bio metric technology on the entire business organization and its security.

It is undeniable that biometric technology leave major positive impact in different sectors. This specific technology is not only applicable for identifying the authenticity of an individual. Electronic devices of now a day has become dependent on finger prints. In order to open a particular mobile device the users need to give a proper finger print so that the excessive rate of mobile hacking can be reduced (Gelb & Decker, 2012). Password can be hacked at any time. As a result, the electronic device users may have to face innumerable difficulties in maintaining the privacy of data. However, in order to overcome this kind of situation the concept of biometric technology has been launched within the process of business. However, this specific research has focused to make an in-depth overview about the necessary positive and negative impact of biometric technology. It is undeniable that after the emergence of biometric the security system has been improved. The business managers do not have to maintain any manual data base. The entire authentication of identity is automatically stored and secured within the device (Ngugi & Kamis, 2013). As a result, an effective and chronological data can be maintained.

At the same time, it is also undeniable that biometric technology is endowed with major negative impacts as well. The users can give dummy finger print to authenticate on the biometric system. As a result, the organization fails to track the proper identification of data. Therefore, the rate of security is not very sure in the biometric system. In addition, for maintaining biometric device the organizations need to have additional hardware which is very expensive. Therefore, the business organization should have proper strength of economy in order to afford a particular biometric machine. Byun & Byun (2013) opined that biometric machines are not accurate and properly configured. Therefore, after evaluating the research issue it has been observed that biometric technology is having positive as well as negative impact on the overall security of business organization.

After evaluating the overall business performance of organizations numerous practitioners have noticed that employees are not providing their best effort towards the services. This specific study has focused to make an in-depth evaluation on the overall impact of biometric technology on the overall business security (Alonso-Fernandez, Fierrez & Ortega-Garcia, 2012). It has been observed that after the emergence of biometric the employees have to attend the workplace at proper time in order to maintain organizational discipline. Biometric is the system that is able to keep a constant track on the employees’ attendance. People belonging to different geographical backgrounds and attitudes are associated within the business organization. Therefore, in many cases employees tend to attend office at the convenient time without informing the higher authority. In order to prevent this situation, the emergence of biometrics has been rendered within the business process (Cull, Demirgüç-Kunt & Morduch, 2012). As a result, employees do not have the scope of showing their duplicate identity after rendering biometrics.

At the same time, it has also been observed that employees after using dummy finger print are doing fraud activities as well. Large number of business organizations is there which is unable to maintain biometric system due to the lack of economic strength. In order to maintain this technology business organizations have to recruit an efficient IT expert who can operate this technology properly (Campisi, 2013). Otherwise, at the time of sudden technological crisis the entire process of business would face a disastrous consequence. This specific study after highlighting the research issue has used numerous methodological tools for conducting the entire process of research work successfully. Methodological tools would help of collect and evaluate data in an appropriate manner. 

Poncin & Mimoun (2014) stated that the concept of biometric technology emerged at the 19^th century while tracking the identity of criminals. Large number of business organizations started to render biometric system within business process in order to authenticate the proper identification so that employees cannot use proxy at their attendance. As per the opinion of Poncin & Mimoun (2014), the emergence of biometric helped in membership management more intensely than focusing on the security. Organizations after rendering biometric has helped the managers to track the attendance of employees, record of arrival and departure and proper identification. This specific technology enables to authenticate the right person after providing the fingerprint or any other symbol of identification (Bustard, 2015). As a result, employees do not have any scope to show duplicate identity. The emergence of biometric has enhanced the revenue growth of business organizations. Employees’ rate of productivity has been raised after maintaining the structure of attendance. Sazonova et al. (2012) differed the point of view of previous scholar.

As per the opinion of this specific scholar business organizations need to give an agile work environment in order to receive good performances from the employees. After the emergence of biometric, employees have to follow a strict rule regarding office attendance (Shantz & Veillette, 2014). Therefore, the business organizations may have to face innumerable difficulties in getting good performances from the employees. On the other hand, it has been observed that employees tend to make dummy fingerprint to authenticate their identification. As a result, the organizational productivity is getting hampered day by day. Zhang (2012) stated that in order to maintain biometric system the employees have to be accustomed with technological skill and development in order to operate the advancement of technology properly. After evaluating the point of view of numerous eminent scholars it can be concluded that biometric technology is enough helpful in making proper identification of an individual. As a result, the employees get least opportunities in providing duplicate attendance.

As per the opinion of Carol Huston (2013), large number of business organizations is there which are unable to implement biometric system for the lack of economic strength. Economy is one of the most important factors due to which business managers fail to implement biometric technology within the organization. In order to overcome the fraud cases regarding biometric technology large number of business organizations have decided to improve the technology by implementing wearable wrist band that uses heartbeat authentication for making payments. As per the opinion of Awad and Hassanien (2014), biometric technology removes the risks brought about by keystroke logging software and malware. It provides the security that passwords and other traditional authentication data alone cannot hence create the secure environment that people envision for our future. The positive effect of biometric technology is undeniable. Any kind of unethical activity after the emergence of this specific technology has become reduced. Saini and Rana (2014) stated that employees intend to attend the organization at proper time. After maintaining a specific work hour the employees automatically provide quality services to the organization.

This specific literature review has primarily focused on evaluating the major impact of using biometric technology on the overall security of business. While discussing about the necessary impact of biometric technology this specific study has focused to evaluate the positive impact primarily. However, biometric technology is possessed with numerous negative impacts as well. The study could have focused on evaluating the major negative impact of biometric system. In addition, this specific literature review has not focused on making an in-depth critical evaluation about the trends of bio-metric technology and its impact on organizations’ security by involving the some of the most eminent scholars.

While dealing with the research issue the researcher would have to face innumerable barriers in accomplishing the entire project properly. The researcher may have to face difficulties in collecting relevant data from reliable resources. In order to make a research paper successful the significance of relevant and reliable data is undeniable. Therefore, in order to gather appropriate data the researcher can use the articles of different eminent scholars who have already dealt with this specific research issue. At the same time, it is also undeniable that the resources that would be collected should have a proper reference list. In case of gathering primary source of data collection technique the researcher should focus on using large number of sampling size so that data can be gather in an unbiased manner. By using limited number of sample size the researcher may have to face biased data with the help of which data analysis can be complicated. Therefore, large number of sampling size may help the researcher to gather an appropriate data and information regarding the research issue.

Conclusion: 

After evaluating the entire research issue it can be concluded that biometric technology has a major positive impact in maintaining the organizational security. At the same time, maintaining biometric technology is possessed with major negative impacts as well. Organizations have to invest large amount of money for maintaining biometric technology. At the same time, the employees as well as the organizational managers have to be accustomed with the advancement of technology. As a result, they can operate the system properly without facing any kind of technological barrier. Due to any kind of sudden technological barrier the entire process of business may have to face drastic consequence. This specific study has focused to make an in-depth overview on both the opportunities as well as challenges of using biometric within organization.

However, after evaluating the entire research issue some of the major recommendations can be provided:

1. Employees can be provided an effective training and development session for handling the advancement of technology. In order to be accustomed with the biometric technology the organization can provide training session to the employees so that they can enhance their technological skill.
2. In order to avoid the fraud cases regarding biometric system the organization can enhance technological development. Large number of companies has decided to authenticate the heartbeat of voice of an individual rater than depending on fingerprint.
