The source article speaks about the problem of large number of insufficiently educated young people who consequently fail to avail well-paid jobs, which is increasing in Australia.

The main argument of the given source is that the education system in Australia is not responsive to the large numbers of inadequately educated students who fall out of school. The schools accept this norm as normal and do not take initiative to curb the increasing number of school fallouts (O’Reilly et al. 2015).

The strong aspects of the source article are, the matter has been presented in a brief and informative manner and the content is very specific and easy to comprehend. The weaknesses of the article are, it does not contain any graph to support the claim in the article and the article is silent about the actions taken by the government to deal with the situation (Hanapi and Nordin 2014).

The article has changed the understanding of mine about the education system in Australia in more than one way. I have learnt that the educational institutes in Australia are not responsive about the poor students. The article also shows that schools serving students hailing from rich families dominate the education industry in the country (Cairo and Cajner 2016).

The article will be very useful for essays and can provide a lot of idea on various subjects.

Ross Gittins, the author of the given article drew a picture of the real condition of the young workforce in Australia. The article states that a large number of students in Australia fail to gain sufficient formal education or even vocational training courses. A majority of these students as a result fail to get themselves well-paid jobs due to their lack of education and skills. The author attributes the system of imparting education in the schools of Australia for this pitiable condition of the youth (Mavromaras, Sloane and Wei 2015). The schools take no initiative to restructure their education framework to curb this increasing number of school fallouts and largely concentrate on serving the students from rich families. The author states with an unpleasant surprise that society perceive this high rate of unemployment among the youth as normal and fail to see the dire effect it would have on the economy of Australia.  The article points out that reducing the rate of unemployment from 5 percent to two percent to increase the unemployment rate of Australia by close to 3 percent. There are two important steps to achieve this increase in employment. First, the education system in Australia should be framed in a way to benefit the students and second, the government fund should reach the students in need and not be exploited to serve the rich politician backed schools. The article also points that contrary to funding education of the students in need, the politicians often reduce the educations grants to the help in under privileged after they assume offices after winning elections (O’Reilly et al. 2015). However, some teachers’ unions and political parties vote against these government initiatives to serve their own interests.

The Condition of Young Workforce in Australia

The author builds ethos appropriate to the audience. He presents a unethical situation in Australia where the education institutes undermine the dangerous effects the increasing rates of uneducated youths on the economy to serve their own political interests.

The author uses pathos very efficiently in the stated article and presents the matter in a way to appeal to the emotion to the readers. He mentions how a large number of students leave school at young ages without completing their education due to lack of cooperation from the educational institutes. The author also mentions about the job insecurity and low standard of life, which these students lead due to lack of education (White 2014). This shows that the author uses pathos every skilfully to attract the emotion of the readers.

The author adeptly uses logos to explain the matter of youth unemployment in Australia in a logical manner. The article clearly shows how the lack of cooperation from educationists and corruption in the education funding system are responsible for the large number of under-educated youth in Australia (Onkila 2017).

The author Ross Gittins has succeeded in connecting to the emotions of the target audience by presenting the article in a very logical manner. However, he fails to support his claim in the article by graphs. Usage of graphs would have made the article stronger because the reader would have able to gain more detailed knowledge about the matter (Zierke and Young 2017). However, the author has succeeded in gaining acceptance of audience through his lucid style of presentation of the facts in the article.
