Effectiveness and Usefulness of Learning Experience

The aim of this report is to present the learning outcomes while preparing a business research report on my topic “The Impact of Global E-commerce Standards”. In this paper, I shall evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of the learning experience that I gathered while preparing the research paper. This paper explains the ways in which this learning process shall serve in my course, program, life and future career. The details of the learning process are provided that was seen, read and heard while preparing the business research report. An evaluation of the learning is made to the observations, and any new insights, feelings or hypotheses. The ways in which the learning process can be applied in the future profession, course or my general life is recognized.

Learning experience can be defined as any course and interaction in which learning takes place in academic settings. In my opinion, learning experience has enhanced in the recent times by the educators through technological and pedagogical shifts. I consider learning experience as an opportunity to interact with the content such as experiments. It also helps in investigating questions of all levels, low or high. The learning experiences helps in experiencing content in real-life situations, whether inside or outside the academic setting.

Learning experience is valuable as the business research helps in defining the business objective. Learning experience is valuable as it comprises of the data collection methods. The businesses can acquire information through secondary research methods. The high achieving students choose to undertake a research degree that enhances my project and personal management skills. Using these skills, I can solve problems and communicate effectively. To find an interesting topic to discuss, my learning experience is enhanced. It is valuable as it adds to the studies conducted by the researchers and helps me confirm the theories and hypotheses myself. The learning experience shall help me apply knowledge in multiple organizations and help secure a vantage point over competitors.

The learning process of business research regarding “The Impact of Global E-commerce Standards” shall be applicable in my future life. This learning experience shall be beneficial in my life as it a research of e-commerce. As my main subject is management and marketing, this research shall be beneficial in my career. The learning process has helped me analyse the impact of global e-commerce standards in the business environment. The study adds to the learning experience as the study conducted by IBM is stated. The main usefulness of the learning process is that we are living in an information age where internet has changed our lives. Therefore, this research learning process has expanded my knowledge about the advantages and disadvantages of e-commerce.

The learning process offers business value and I believe everyone should have knowledge of every area of management. As e-commerce has great potential and future, I must learn how companies manage their operations. As I intend to lead a company some day in the world of digital commerce, I must consider e-commerce as a separate discipline. This shall be beneficial in my life as it adds to new dimensions to the interaction in the market.

Usefulness of Learning Process

In the learning process of “The Impact of Global E-commerce Standards”, the research topic was defined. The topic was discussed with friends and colleagues. After the selection of research problem, the concepts and basic overview of e-commerce was stated. While framing the basic of introduction, I observed that e-commerce is applicable in every industry. Be it pharmaceuticals, electronics, or any other industry. It is further noted that literature review brings ease in the research. I explored about e-commerce and its impact in business performance. Reading about the application of e-commerce in IBM, I explored the significant advantages offered in the digital world. I faced difficulties as the learning process was time-consuming. It was difficult to find the appropriate journals.

Further, when the data was collected for the research process, I realized that it is the most significant portion of the learning experience. If the methodology chosen for the research would be inappropriate, the findings shall not be relatable. The research findings and literature review was tricky to find as it is theoretical and methodological contributions to a particular topic. One of the most critical elements of the learning process is referencing. I learnt different styles of referencing such as Harvard and APA to add to evidence of the report.

A major reason as to why many companies are seeking to harness the Internet is because it’s an additional source of revenue via an alternative marketing and distribution channel. As well as providing the opportunity to reach millions of consumers, the interactive nature, the many possibilities for its use, and the resourcefulness and rapid growth of its supporting infrastructures, result in many potential benefits to organizations, individuals, and society.

For the observations made in the business research, it can be analysed that e-commerce study was useful. I learnt that the greatest advantages e-commerce can provide is reduction in costs and improved management of services. Similarly, I learned about other issues such as limitations of e-commerce. The business research was useful for my research learning process as I came to understanding that there is no choice for businesses but to get on to the E-Commerce way. The business research is also useful as it makes it possible to reduce risk. It shall avoid company failure and help the business decide if the requirements have been met.

The particular activities done in Assignment 1 and 2 are preparing a research proposal and literature review. For preparing a research proposal, I went through a significant learning process as it is an investigation of the existing research. I recognized and stated the importance of research problem. I reviewed the literature as found relevant with the project. It is a creative component as the studies of other researchers and scholars were reviewed. I learned that the authors have different perspectives towards e-commerce. It can be difficult to write a research proposal and it is important to develop skills beyond own personal and professional development.

The research questions identified for this research paper are: What are the impacts of global e-commerce standards? What is the impact of e-commerce on global trend and market? What is the impact of e-commerce on business performance? I conducted literature review to establish theoretical framework of e-commerce and identify case studies that support the topic. Therefore, it is an overview of theories, ideas and significant literature. Further, the research methods adopted is both qualitative and quantitative in nature. I chose the particular methods and activities as it helps me in outlining the relationship between the dependant and independent variables in a population.

A research proposal is an essential document that outlines what everyone wants to do with business. the general nature of the research to be pursued, as far as practicable, including expected resources and any special conditions required to complete the research (field trips, specialised computer software) and details of funding expectations, if relevant. These can be applied in my real life as the business can be kept on track. The gaps in literature are identified through a deep understanding of the body of knowledge in the marketing field. These researchers have complete proficiency in their chosen field which is the result of years of experience or a rich body of knowledge acquired after covering all the important papers in their field of study.

The economic activity is often assumed as the modern models that entirely drives the profit maximisation behaviour. This learning shall be applicable in my future life and career as e-commerce is a part of most of the businesses. Therefore, e-commerce research has helped me in investigating about the theories and case studies where many companies like IBM has benefitted. I can apply similar strategies to make my future career successful.
