Sample Cover Letter

The following report is a funding proposal that is based on the process of preparing a request for funding. The report provides a detailed request to the government by an NGO working in Chicago to help them with some funding and also help them get a license from the state department of human welfare to ensure that they can have sponsors and gain a substantial amount of recognition so that they can carry on different types of social welfare works in the city.  The following sample grant proposal contains;

It is a pleasure to write to your department especially addressing you in this letter for our small organization. We are pleased to present the following proposal for the review of you and your department. We are looking forward to partner you and work according to the guidelines as mentioned by your department. First of all, it is important to mention about ourselves and our work in the city. I write on behalf of my NGO that has its headquarters in Chicago and has some programs currently running in various cities of USA. The programs are generally privately sponsored, and our organization has a tough task to arrange or funding for each of the different programs. The program thus needs heavy funding and support for its success.

The main program launched by the organization has been given the title “Love and Care”. The program has been able to attain huge attention from the different sectors of the city. The objectives of the following program are to reach out the benefits of the program to the targeted people and help them with different types of benefits to make them happier and ensure that they stay fit and fine. During the last year we have been piloting the following program with a small group of backward students especially the migrants from Africa with poor background. The program has helped these people in many ways that includes financial, health related and other kind of helps to make them a much better person.

As I have said earlier we have seen major success in the following field and the program titled “Love and Care” has seen huge success across all fields of the society. We are now seeking to expand the program as well as the benefits of the program from being a small localized one to making it a nationalized program and slowly helping it expand its wings in neighboring countries like Mexico and Panama. However, such a huge expansion will need a huge amount of financial support. A great financial support will be the key to make the program a success in the future. The letter is being provided as a proposal of request to the respected US Government to extend your support to our organization. The main resource for the organization will thus be the source of proper funding. It will thus be helpful for us if your government helps us by lending us financial support by providing us the new NGO license which can ensure a long-term help for our organization.

Resource needs in relation to the resource availability

We will be grateful to you along with your department if you kindly consider our requests and make the necessary arrangements that can ensure the success of our program in the market.

The resource needs of the organizations can be generally defined as the gap in between what is and what should be. The current need of the organization is the need of proper funding. Running an NGO needs a proper back up and therefore the absence of a proper back up will not help the organization. The need for a strong backup is important to run an NGO and therefore the immediate need for the organization is healthy findings. The activities of the business need resources for continuous demands and thus the presence of resources is needed every time (Greenhalgh, Jackson, Shaw & Janamian, 2016). This is mainly because the different activities of the NGO are scheduled as soon as possible. The management of the NGO has to get hold of the resource and use them accordingly to complete different tasks. A fund of $50,000 will be needed to run the organization smoothly. It will be beneficial for the organization  when they will be able to gather funds for the project as the project will draw attention and in turn sponsors and funds, while on the other hand the project will be beneficial for the targeted group.

Community Partnerships

The study of Anderson & Dees (2017) has seen that most of the NGO’s generally comes into partnerships with other corporate. We have been in talks with some corporate partners for a while now to enter into partnerships that could be beneficial for both of us. The entry of a corporate house into a partnership with us can help them to fulfill their CSR commitments while we on the other hand can ensure a continuous flow of healthy funds and adequate promotion in new markets that will ensure our success. Our organization has been in fruitful talks with Midway Games of Chicago and Bankers Life financial Corporation. The final selection will be finalized after a series of meetings between us and the management of the companies.

The project has been titled “Love and Care”. Launched in the year 2016, it was an instant hit among the backward community within just a few months from its launch. The main idea behind the introduction of the following program was to support the backward community especially the migrant Africans and help them live sustainable and healthy life. The program has seen huge response in the cities especially in Chicago and New York where there is a large concentration of migrant Africans.

The main objectives of the following program are as follows;

1. To promote cross cultural based cooperation based upon the foundation of the shared practical interests to strengthen the society through mutual social benefits that encourages growth and promotes innovation
2. To promote quality education amongst the backward African class
3. To promote women and Child health care and ensure the presence of a disease free healthy community
4. To promote sustainable community programs among the people of the organization
