1.1 Background/Context

Most of the plants and the industries have been adopted the different engineering practices for meeting the production and output. However, it has been identified that irrespective of the risks and hazards, the developed strategies for the maintenance and management of the best safety precautions those could support the proper functioning and guidance of the operational activities.

Most of the individuals have been identified to be influenced or impacted due to less safety measures and strategies those could allow the smooth functioning of the operational activities. The regulations and policies related to the safety guidance adopted by the plants and the industries are not much efficient those could support these safety measures. The adoption of the strategies, policies, and regulations are necessary for assuring that the noise pollution or the chemical releasing of the industries do not impact on the overall output of the organizational production.

The workers have the right to be safe and deliver the work as per the agreement made with the organization. At plants, there are probabilities of working at height that can be a hazardous situation for the workers and can be counted as the risk for the staffs or employees. Other hazardous situations include poor housekeeping, noise pollution, electrical problems, forklifts, tagout/lockout, and confined spaces. These possible threats could be a serious problem for the safe and effective management of the plants and associated stakeholders.

2. Scope of Work

2.1 Scope Statement

This statement of work will allow the adoption of the best practices those could allow enhancement in the safety environment for the different work places considering the staffs and employees working in the plants and industries. The engineering practices must consider the health and safety acts while delivering the overall update of the project with an assurance that the project being delivered is capable of assuring the safety for the internal employees and consideration of the best practices those could assure the safety of the internal staffs and employees who are vulnerable to the hazards mentioned in the above section.

The final goal of this work is to develop an engineering project that can allow the internal staffs to adopt the best practices those could enhance the safety at the work place. The health conditions of the individuals are of major concern and hence, the project will assure the safety of the individuals from the several threats those might influence the overall medical safety in the workshop.

Significance/Importance of the Task

Work Health and Safety Act 2012 will be followed throughout the entire assumptions and selection of the activities those need to be monitored and executed for managing the safety throughout the plant or industry.

2.2 Significance/Importance of the Task

Hearing loss occur due to Hazardous noise in the workshops those could slowly lead to the temporary hearing loss that could alternatively lead to the loss of ability to recover permanently. The sudden expose to the high intensity screen can ultimately lead to the loss of hair inner ear those cannot be replaced by the any technology or medical treatments. “Exposure standard of 85 dB(A) averaged over eight hours” and the “Peak noise levels greater than 140 dB(C)” could possibly lead to the instant damage to hearing.

This work will allow the organization to have relevant engineering practices those could enhance the safety at the workplace and development of the strategies those could help in managing the entire operational activities in the plant. The adoption of the work health and safety act will ensure the duties of the persons on the work places are being managed and delivered in a way considering the safety regulations those could manage the safety controls in the work place. This statement of work will not include the compliance of the safety and health duty or any other exceptions in these regulations. It will assure the final production of the plants and industries are enhanced and does not altered due to the health issues faced by the internal staffs in the workplace.

2.3 Project Objectives

Following are the objectives those need to be considered while delivering this project successfully:

To analyze the existing WHS aspects in the prevention of hearing loss in the maintenance workshop adopted by the plants

To improve the implication of the management of work and health safety risks of the plant in work place.

To eliminate the causes that might lead to hearing loss in the maintenance workshop

To comply the South Australian Act, code of practices and the regulations those could be helpful in preventing the hearing loss in the workplace

3. Task Requirements

In manner to adopt the best safety precautions at the workplace, it is considerable that the project activities follow the safety regulations. It is necessary that the activities being followed should have enough safety equipment and must comply with the work health and safety act. The regulations and policies of the organization must develop the organization policies and the regulations those are necessary for the management and maintenance of the safety throughout the internal environment of the workshop.

Project Objectives

The chemical releasing must be managed to the extent level and there should be proper decomposition system that can manage the pollution level within the internal environment of the workshop and the work places in which the staffs have been appointed for delivering necessary operational activities. Other than these approaches, there should be an effective and proper housekeeping regarding the safety and assurance of the healthy and comfortable environment that can manage the operational activities in much efficient and effective manner. There should be enough space around the plant, industry or factory as these could possibly lead to the high exposure to the hazardous elements such as accidents, fire, and many more. The electricity supply should have proper insulation and covering regarding the restriction of the whole electrical network from being fail.

Analyze the existing regulations and policies adopted by the plants: in their workshop for managing and maintaining the hearing loss. It will be helpful in understanding what are steps being adopted those comply with the existing South Australian Act. It will alternatively contribute in the adoption of the strategies those could be used for assuring that the workers are not influenced by the hazards in the workshop.

Evaluate the modifications being recommended or suggested for the management of the noise and prevention of the hearing loss at the Workshops in plants. To propose a feasible timeline and cost management that can meet the necessary objectives and scope of the project. It will help in assuring the efficiency of the recommended strategy in the existing procedures of accomplishing the operational activities in the workshop.

Make sure the hearing loss and the health problems have been eliminated successfully in the workshops and the safety of the workers are being kept at the highest priority. The adoption of the practices and the regulations should be complying with the operations’ safety being delivered in the workshops.

Information gathering

Work Health and Safety (Managing Noise and Preventing Hearing Loss at Work) Code of Practice 2015 and Work Health and Safety (Managing Risks of Plant in the Workplace) Code of Practice 2015 are the sources for the delivery of this statement of work for managing the noise and hearing health issues in the workshop plants.

Recommendations

The proposed modifications as the successful adoption of the “Work Health and Safety (Managing Noise and Preventing Hearing Loss at Work) Code of Practice 2015.” It should be complying and fulfilling the conflicting and different needs found in the synthetic sets of humans and natural sets of humans including “political party, union, corporation, nation” and “individual, family, peer group, community.” It must be assured that the workers are not being impacted due to the adopted strategies and all the assumptions are meeting the context of the SA Act and code of practices.

Task Requirements

review and amend

It is analyzed that the consideration of the “Managing Noise and Preventing Hearing Loss at Work” can be not much efficient in adopting the strategies those could best suit the management of the workers’ safety at workshops. In addition to this compliance of the SA act 2012, and Managing Risks of Plant in the Workplace code of practice 2015 can be highly efficient for reaching at a level where the health risks related to noise pollution can be eliminated.

3.5 Schedule and Milestones

The list of the activities along with the accurate duration is being managed considering the adoption of the strategies those could meet the adoption of the best and effective strategy for adopting the best work and health safety approaches.
