It can be said that the Alice in the Wonderland is an adventure film that has received mixed reviews after its release. It is a movie that is praised for the special effects and visual style. The movie is described as a psychotic reinterpretation of the film named Chronicles of Narnia. The reason of liking the movie along with the description of the plot can be defined as the movie analysis.

Disney’s “Alice in the Wonderland” is a unique production that features many distinctive characters with a distinguished plotline. It can be said that there is a difference between the original narrative and the movie. The initial story begins with Alice sitting in a park with her elder sister. She is reading a book. Bur the movie exaggerate this thing into a different scene of historical background. The movie started in a history lesson. The scene is related to the Caucus race. After that, Alice enters into the Wonderland where she faces many activities that is related to a number of scenes of class struggle, gender roles and the drug use (Schütze 2014).

The journey of Wonderland of Alice depicts the fact that Alice is a brave girl who is ready to face challenges during her tour to the world. She tries to break the routine and tries to create an imaginary world. The incidents that happened to her are responsible for creating subliminal messages. Role of Alice is depicted in a way so that it is sending a positive message to the audiences. The message encourages the girls of her age to live life based on her imagination rather than living a life based on the wishes and imagination of the others. This is a positive aspect of the movie that encourage positivism to a girl’s life. The incidents that has happened in her imaginary wonderland is responsible for developing many characters that is dormant in her life (Elliott 2014).

The ideas that are been depicted in the above section have illustrated the fact that the female characters in the movie has a dominant role. The queens are responsible for ruling the kingdom. Nevertheless, they are depended on the different types of male characters in the movie. The reviews of the movie said that the story of the movie is defined as the reminiscent of “Chronicles of Narnia”. It is described as a tale that is set in a unique fantastic universe with a coming of age empowerment. The movie has many scenes that depicts various instances of drug usage such as cats disappear, room shrink, tears becoming ocean, etc (Rikandi et al. 2017).

The movie Alice in the Wonderland like that of other Disney movies contain many subliminal message and stereotypes. It focuses on the gender and stereotypes. However, it can be said that the movie does not depict a Disney princess in particular. Nevertheless, the film cannot be completed without the touch of typical Disney stereotypes (Carroll 2016). The movie depicts the power of the women. It can be found in the roles of the two queens. On the other hand, it can be said that the success of the two queens are not possible without the help of masculine characters. Rather they cannot get success without the masculine characteristics (Smith, Wright, and Bennett 2015).

However, it can be said that there are aspects like drug use and class struggles are the main part that is being highlighted in the movie. The scenes of the movie contain few scenes that the children are exposed towards drugs which is a crime. The hallucinations are caused in the entire film due to the visual imaginations present in the film. Moreover, it is pointed out that the film portrays the concept of class struggle. It represents the superior position of the higher class and the inferior position of the lower class in the society (Gordon 2015).

It can be said that the elements of class struggle, drug usage and gender roles attracts many audiences. There are many types of audiences who might not like the movie, as it lack spiritual richness. The story of the movie can be defined as the cut and dried battle among the good and the evil. The story of the movie illustrates that a princess is waiting for her perfect man. The leadership roles of the movie are dominated by the female characteristics of the movie. In the movie, it is seen that though the queens portray the leadership role but they are controlled by the brains of the men in the kingdom. The men mainly control the operational department of the kingdom (Webb 2016).

The adventure of Alice in Wonderland illustrates different scenes that relates to usage of drugs by the children. The experience and the visual imagination is covered in the entire story. Apart from that, the scene of storytelling by the twins of Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee to Alice in the forest about the carpenter and the walrus depicts the class struggle with a class difference between the two characters (Fahmi, Marwa and Eldin 2017).

It can be concluded that if someone likes adventure movies with a helping dark humour and the surreal visuals, then they can like the movie “Alice in the Wonderland”. The reviews of the movie is medium. Various movie critics explains the film as a occasionally unsettling, an inventive movie with a dark fantasy. However, it can be noticed that the film does not contain much philosophical implications along with spiritual richness of movies like “Narnia”. The elements of gender roles, drug addiction, class struggle, etc. are the most attractive areas of the film.

In this section, the film analysis of “Blade Runner” is explained with a detailed information on the plot of the story, the themes used in it and the message the movie is trying to portray in the audiences. It is a movie that belongs to the category of an American science fiction. More specifically, it is a neo-noir film directed by Ridley Scott. The movie is excerpted from the novel “Do Androids dream of Electric Sheep” written by Philip K. Dick. The movie is also considered as a science fiction as it emphasises the theme of genetic engineering and cloning in a specific way.

The movie Blade Runner has the characteristics of a imaginative visual effects of the metropolitan city Los Angeles. An enigmatic, ambitious and visually complex, noir and futuristic film contain all the requisite elements of a questionable male protagonist named Deckard. The main protagonist of the movie is a former, weary police hunter. The state government due to the search of the four android replicants is dispatching him. The story is characterised with a philosophical perspective on human and reality dependencies. The movie is a multi-layered movie which possess many characteristics such as: unsettling and thrilling, detective film noir and part dark science fiction, mature, intelligent, powerful and artistic, dream-like and realistic (Shanahan 2016).

The movie has a visual richness that draws into a clear picture of futuristic dystopic vision that not only portrays on a sprawling technological metropolis but also into an soulless empty place. The film not only depicts strong themes of science fiction but also it adds a sorbefacient mood that includes tragic of the characters into a sense of contained desperation of life. It can be said that, throughout the film there are many displays of life and death that are responsible for creating illuminate the surrealness of the characters in the case of radical imposement of the world (Telotte and Duchovnay 2015).

It can be said that the setting used in the movie are brooding and dark. The city portrayed in the movie is dark and foggy due to perceptual rain. Sometimes the darkness is penetrated by the neon streetlights and the advertisement. The stark landscape and the powerful imagery in the backdrop are considered as the perfect setting in terms of the modern myth. The concept of societal decline is the area of concern described in the plot of the movie where there is pollution from the technology that has seized the control of the cities. The mystical journey of the protagonist Deckert in the movie has many archetypal characters. The deities have their own motives, polar identities and few purposes that are not clearly defined.

The topic of interest of the film Blade Runner is the elements of the science fiction and the visual effects. A good science fiction movie is characterised by a well formulated special effects. However, it can be said that the special effects and the visual effects of the movie does not have to create an awe-inspiring impression in the minds of the audiences. It is pointed out that most of the special effects that is incorporated in the movie is smaller than any expectation from the audiences (Redmond 2016). The awesome sights of the movie can be compared to the awesome visual special effects of the movie “The Star War”.  However, it can be said that the effects of Blade Runner are well developed and unique. The futuristic ideas of the movie resemble the items that contain elements of present and the past. A sense of believability is created in Blade Runner that is responsible for the implementation of the mixture of both new and old visual effects (Sadler 2016).

Blade runner can be the favourite movie of the audiences due to the Vangelis music along with the atmosphere of the film. The atmosphere depicts the character in itself. Blade Runner portrays a shadowy and dark cinematography that illustrates a futuristic direction in the fictional distance from the reality of the present to the approaches of it in 2020 (Cruz 2014). The movie is an example of pure science fiction as it delves into the implications of science and technology on the society and environment. It also uses the religious aspect, literatures, classical dramatic themes, symbolism, and film noir. In the retrofitted movie Blade Runner, the tension between the present, past and future is portrayed in gleaming and high-tech aspects (Lacey2016).

Symbolism is an element in the story of the movie where the character Deckard has killed many replicants, and gradually the character becomes progressively dehumanized in nature. On the other hand, it can be said that the replicants are considered as human. Finally, a question has arise in the mind of Deckard. He thought that the activities done by him are doubtful and he is unable to find the difference between the replicants and him. Further, his thoughts reached into a transition that perhaps there is no difference between the replicants and him in the perspective of the human element (Zeitz 2016).

Blade runner is a science fiction basically as it contains many ideas that proves it to be a science fiction. The three criteria of a science fiction are predominant conflict between good and an evil, well development of visual effects, and a degree of believability. However, it can be concluded that the film Blade Runner incorporates all the three criteria of a science fiction successfully. The conflict between the main character Deckard and in many cases the evil of Tyrell, its corporation and the replicants. The characters of the movie has the believable and qualities. The characters that are not human also have these qualities.
