Present time is the new era of digital world and information system and technology are continuously contributing in the enhancement of the personal life livings through introducing many life changing technologies and systems. Dell took this opportunity and has become one of the largest PC (Personal Computer) manufacturer company in the world. The company has been expanding globally and that lead to the necessity of IT transformation in manner to bring out the efficient effective output. The purpose of this report is to present an information centric solution through applying the Enterprise Information Architecture Reference Architecture (EIA RA) in manner to achieve the operational activities as mentioned in the case study. There are various diagrams presented in this report in manner to outline the system needed for the development and growth of the organization.

EIA RA templates have been utilized for the presentation of the Enterprise Information Architecture representation in this report allowing the change and evolvement of the technologies. The systematic EIA RA approach has been applied within the existing information system architecture of the Dell, emphasizing on the Conceptual Architecture, Logical Architecture, Component Modelling, and Operational Modelling.

The goal of the Dell EIS (Enterprise Information system) is to manage the expansion being implemented in different countries and allowing the operational activities to be accomplished in an efficient and effective manner. The transformation is the crucial factor for the accomplishment of the objectives and goals of the Dell and supporting the Supply Chain Management for the expansion implemented within the existing system. The conceptual architecture emphasizes on identifying the information system blocks of the present Information system and establishes the relation of the transition with the conceptual model.

The following system context diagram is a representation of the exchange of data flow with the system and expressing the boundaries of the completely developed system and its subsystems including the environment of the operational activity management of the Dell IT transformation. The following diagram describes the high-level system integration of the current system representing the exchange of information between the different activities and management needed for the smooth flow of the operational activities within the Dell. These are the considerable sectors for the development of the new transformation in manner to enhance the customer experience and operational activities within the company.

The following diagram has been represented considering the high-level architecture of the Dell Company considering every elements and objectives of the organization. The presentation of the architecture overview diagram is to establish an effective and efficient communication to the external stakeholders and thee sponsors through providing a high-level shared vision of the scope and architecture of the presented IT transformation for the development systems. The following diagram has been proposed through exploring and evaluating the alternative architectural options. Following architecture overview diagram of the Dell is based on the current information system architecture of the It and it is a crucial factor for evaluating the needs for the proposed IT transformation. The following AOD diagram is nothing but the transformation of the non-technical operational requirements of the Dell towards a conceptual model as presented in the following diagram. Data domain, Enterprise information integration, and connectivity and interoperability are the crucial aspects or the single enterprise approach of the Dell Company for the management of the information being exchanged between different departments as described in the figure.

Conceptual Architecture

The following logical architectural diagram has been presented considering the technical functionality of the IT transformation within the Dell Company emphasizing the smooth flow and exchange of the information between the established expansions at different companies. The connectivity and interoperability expressed in this report emphasize on the establishment of a global connectivity for the data exchange and flow between the different centers at different countries. Establishment of the network in different countries certainly needs a solution that can be applicable within the existing system despite of the legal issues between the centers of the organization. The following diagram explains the presentation services delivers including all the managerial operations of the Dell in relation to the marketing. The logical architecture presented comprise of the non-functional services including the operational activities including the security, services, quality, ad other aspects for the delivery of the better and enhanced customer services to the consumers buying PC from the organization. It has been related to the context design presented in the above diagram emphasizing on the IT transformation implementation within the existing IT infrastructure of the Dell.

The concept model is a demonstration of the interrelationship between the logical models of the information system of the Dell. The following model has been delivered considering the specific set of capabilities those could be applicable for performing the specific functionality of the operational activities within the Dell. It comprised of different arts including component relationship diagram, component interaction diagrams, and component descriptions as expressed in the following paragraphs:

It is helpful in depicting the interfaces, components and the relation between these entities. A logical model diagram has been depicted in the component relationship diagram and has been loaded with the logical functions and the entities necessary for the delivery of the operations.

The above mentioned components can be described in terms of the non-functional requirements, functional requirements, and interfaces. Considering the operational activities of the Dell, it is a crucial factor that the collaboration hub and information co-production hub differs from the EIA RA (Enterprise Information Architecture Reference Architecture) models and can be described as follows:

Collaboration hub: This element is helpful in relating the requirements of the Dell for the interaction between the external stakeholders and the organization heads concerning the matter of the policy. For instances, there will be the need of the interactions and discussions on this matter and the collaboration hub will not be providing those collaborations however; it will be acting as an interaction gateway for controlling and securing the gateway constituents access for those collaborations. In relation with the moderation services and the security, the collaboration hub will be relying on the access of the presentation service for the authentication and authorization through relying on the collaborative services responsible for moderating and monitoring individual collaboration instances.

Logical Architecture

Interfaces: It will be responsible for providing the collaboration to the constituent on the dashboard type mobile app web page or web page. Considering the internal interface side, it will be responsible for connecting the multiple collaboration instances through behaving as a bridge or connection hub to these multiple collaboration.

Information Co-Production Hub: This component will be helpful in relating the requirements and needs of the Dell from the perspective of the situation where it calls itself as a single organization from a single portal. It will also be helpful in enabling the constituent towards being co-productive with the help of this information. The information-co hub will be allowing the constituents for requesting visions of the service portals those have been related with the co-production hub along with the Dell.

Interfaces: Considering the external presentation, it can be stated that the constituent will be presented with more than one portals will be presented simultaneously along with the services being provided to the consumers of the Dell. In the internal presentation, it is the bridge or the gateway to the Dell applications and portal services.

It is nothing but the depiction of the dynamic interaction between the entities within a singular Use Case Scene along with the high-level interaction evaluation in manner to verify the configuration of the component and the inclusion. The following figure describes the evaluation of the current processes being utilized by the Dell for the accomplishment of the operational activities considering the configuration and verification of the components. The description of the figure can be expressed as the transformation in IT needed for the dell will need to pass through the authorization at the administrator phase in manner to access the co-production hub. The data will be gathered through accessing the appropriate portals that will be alternatively integrated within the transformed IT system proposed for the Dell that will be contributing in the enhancement of the quality of services being delivered to the consumers. 

The proposed operational model comprised of the distribution of nodes interconnected among the many geographical location and depict the flow of the data or information within the system. There are four nodes as presented in the below diagram those are comprised of different components applicable at different location and those have been identified as the deployment units for the management of the information within the proposed system. There are different non-functional and functional requirements of which the component model is comprised of as depicted in the following figure. The components and entities described in the figure depict the strategies those could be utilized within the proposed system for the maintenance of the high availability for the data are information those have not been structured. Similarly, the entity has been proposed for the maintenance of the disaster risk and business continuity through the application of the standard design. The sub-systems introduced in the following diagrams are of same importance as that of the others.

Component Modeling

According to the EIA RA, many templates are available those could be utilized for the presentation of the logical operational model. The following model has been presented for the management of the unstructured data being gathered from different sources during the application of the proposed IT transformation for the Dell. The system needs redundancy and availability of the data or information in manner to reduce the errors during this transformational process. It will also be helpful in minimizing the impact and manage the business operation needed for the interaction between the management, staffs, suppliers, and the customers. It will be behaving as a subsystem for boosting the efficient and effective operations and functioning for the IT transformation being introduced to the Dell in manner to manage the non-functional and functional operational models at the same instance.

Conclusion

Based on the above repot it can be concluded that a connected organization requiring the customer centric and inclusive supply chain management information system has been proposed through the utilization of the industry standard EIA RA (Enterprise Information Architecture Reference Architecture templates). An architecture overview diagram and system context diagram have been also proposed in the above report considering the current information system of the existing system of the Dell. In contrast with this, a logical diagram has been proposed in manner to translate the identified concepts within an information system that has been subdivided into components those could be logically tested and described within eh component model. Moving forward, many subsystems can be broken down into sub systems after setting the entire setup within different operational models, which could be further described as geographically located data connections and located nodes. The above report has been proposed considering the templates of the EIA and RA for the identification of all the aspects for the organization processing business activities and data or information management.
