Except, I am already a part of it and fully aware that my glass ceiling exists. I can see it all around me when my male peers are being offered salaries of upper $60,000-$70,000 for the same job that I was offered $50,000 for. This is not an exaggeration, no. Take my two friends for example, both supply chain management majors who have taken virtually all the same courses, both had internships in the industry. She was considered “not qualified” for the same exact position.I appreciated the articles passion for uplifting women into senior positions. There is a need and a desire for a stronger woman presence. I think Sri Lanka is very inspiring as they have one of the world’s highest number of women leaders at 21%.
