The travels and tourism company offers a holiday plan to its customers. The tourism companies help to guide the customers in making their holidays memorable. The organizations offer many options to the customers those who want to go for holidays. In this context, we will discuss the My Travel group and the factors that forced the organization to make changes in the organization and also development for the changes efforts.

My Travel Group started its business under the brand of Air tours in 1972, and the owner of the group was David Crossland. In the year, the 1980s the organization starts its own holiday’s package system with its airline.  The organization also won the award in the year 1990 as a tour operator. My travel group is the United Kingdom-based Travel Company. There are various brands that include in My Travel Group like; Escapades, Aspro, Direct Holiday, etc. My Travel Group also includes in-house airline. The company doing its business with 700 shops around the world and also has around 30 aircraft, the numbers of customer for My Travel Group is around 5.6 million, and the company also owns 80 hotels and resorts.

Some of the Awards won by the group are:

  • Best Air Travel Organization also in 2006

The change is the ongoing process of the organization to improve its business, so in order to make the change process in the travels and tourism business, the organization need to understand the change process (Dillimono and Dickinson, 2014). The Change process may be in the form of structure change of the organization, tools and techniques that used in the business process or diversity in a workplace, the change in the operational methods of the organization. The travels and tourism organization can adapt the change process in the organization for the development. The organization first analyzes the effect of changes that may arise from the change process (Maximiliano, 2013). The travels and tourism organization can make changes for the deduction of the cost of a company, or for stopping the employee’s turnover. When the travels and tourism organization feels that there is a performance gap, and the customers of the organization are satisfied with service providing facilities, then the organization may go for the organizational change (Gustafson, 2012).

The organizational change also includes the change in the structure of the organization, changes in the business strategies. Suppose the travels and tourism organization are providing their services to the selected country and for this, the organization is losing their customers. In this situation, the travel and tourism organization may go for the change, by expanding their services to the other country as well, so that they can increase their customers. There are three stages in the organizational change; they are establishing the need, implementation of change and proper monitoring (Maumbe, 2014). At first, it is important to establish the need for change, the top management of the organization should calculate that where the organization wants to be in the future and what are the possibilities to reach there in the future. After establishing the need for change, the top management should implement the change process and need to communicate it to the employees of the organization. If the employees fail to understand the change process, then it may create difficulties for the organization to implement the change process. Implementing of change process may include workforce diversity, which means put the right worker to the right job. This will help the travels and tourism organization to work in an organized or systematic way, which will lead to the success. In the time of implementing the change process the top level management should monitor the works done by the employees of the organization; it will reduce the issues that may arise during the change process. The proper monitoring can also help the organization to make the suitable adjustment in the change process (Lather, Garg and Vikas, 2015).

The travels and tourism organizational change may take the long time for the whole process, as they provide their services to the world, so they have to do lots of changes for the whole process.

There may be several factors that can force the travel and tourism organization to make the changes in the organization. The factors are:

  • Competition: This is one of the most important factors for which the travels and tourism organization may go for the change. As we know that there is the high competition between tourism organizations, because of the new entrance in the market. For example, if a new tourism company enters into the market, then the company may take lower price from the customer in order to capture the market and the existing companies may face problem for these reasons (Horolets, 2014).
  • Technology: The innovation of new and advanced technology in the market also can be the reason for the organizational changes. The old employees those who do not know how to use the computer may face problem for the technologies. So the company should provide proper training and development program to the employees of the organization to cope up with the change process, which will also increase the skills and knowledge of the employees of the organization.
  • Desire for Growth: In the present market, all the business organization desire for the growth in the future. The travels and tourism organization also desire for growth, so to get success, the organization needs to make changes in the organization. My Travel Group started its business under the brand of Air tours in 1972 with limited resources, but when the organization starts growing its business, it faces some of the problems. So these problems may be the reason for adopting the change process in the travels and tourism organization (Korstanje, 2014).
  • Need to improve Processes: The travels and tourism organization need to improve their business processes to increase the number of customers. The need of improvement is also may be the reason for the organizational changes.
  • Economical Factor: The economical factor includes the economy of the country or a place in which the travel and tourism organization used to provide their services. If the economy of the place goes down than for increasing the economy, the government may increase the price for the tourist place; this may create difficulties for the travels and tourism organization.
  • Government Regulation: This is also one of the most important factors for the organizational change. The change in the government regulation also affects the business of travel and tourism and forced to make the organizational changes. The changes in the taxation affect the cost of the organization and the revenue earn by the organization may go down, so in this case organizational change is necessary in order to cope up with the government regulation (Lin and Fu, 2012).
  • Poor Performance: The poor performance is the most important reason for the organizational changes. In travel and tourism business, the guides are the important person those who use to go with the visitors to guide them and to tell them about the place. If the guides fail to do their job in the proper way, the visitors may not be happy with the services. So, because of the poor performance of the guides the organization may need to make the change in the organization, in which the employees get proper training to improve their skills (Kah and Lee, 2014).
  • The Internal Environment: The internal factor of the organization includes the system of working and the structure, the employees, etc. The travel and tourism business set the mission, in which the organization sets a target and tries to achieve the target with a period of the growth of the organization. If the organization see that, because of some organizational activities the target may not be possible to achieve in time and then organization go for change process to achieve the target in time (Wong and Li, 2015).
  • The External Environment: The external environment is the factors that are occurring outside of the organization and which are not in the hand of the organization. The external factor may include the political factor, customers, competitors, social condition, etc. By collecting the feedback from the customers, the organization understand the level of satisfaction and if it low level of satisfaction the organization is bound to make the changes in the organization, so that they can satisfy the customers (Dillimono and Dickinson, 2014).

This will help the employees to make their much better, and this will also lead the organization for the development (Huang and Chuang, 2013).
  • Understanding the leadership and management: The change process in the organization will also help the employees to understand the leadership and the management which is very important for the employees and the growth of the organization. Once the employees of the organization learn about the leadership and the management process, and then it will be easy for the organization to gear the efforts for the organizational changes. So it is important for the employees to understand the performance level and the different techniques to improve the performance level (Trudeau Poskas and Messer, 2015).
  • Organizational Development: The organizational development can be possible by using the steps that are mention in the above study. It is important for the managers or the leaders of travel and tourism to monitor the change process for the development of the organization. The continuous effort to the successful change process will lead the development of the organization. The change management is also the important factor for the development of the organization (Dadallage, 2015).
