Dairy Australia is a business that contains different small and large company. This report helps to comprehend the local and international demand for Nestle Company. It also aids to develop the clear aspect related to favorable and unfavorable impacts of Nestle. Australian dairy contains the small and large company in which demand of Nestle product i.e. KitKat is growing. It is analysed that Nestle Company targeted 18 to 24 age group of Australian to increase the demand of Products and services. Nestle also deals at the international level in order to get competitive benefits (Thomson, et. al., 2016).

• To identify the impact of globalization in the context of Nestle
• To address the main focus of government towards the dairy industry
• To recommend the element that farmer need to consider while farming herds for difficult times

The scope of this project is wider as it helps to develop the understanding of the Nestle and Australian dairy industry. The market scope for KitKat is increasing due to focusing on Australian whose age group is 18-24 years. The culture of dairy is a new way for farmers to gain the market scope. The awareness of health and living with healthy food has gained the scope of industry (Perera, et. al., 2014).

According to Tierney et al. (2015), certain bulls and high amount of cows were brought in Australia from England with the intention of farming in the year of 1788. The steady growth in the dairy industry has developed effects in the 18^th century in which butter and cheese were manufactured in summer and spring where cow produced a high amount of milk. In the starting of 1800, importing and breeding of bulls and cows are increasing. The first commercial cheese factory was developed in Tasmania in the year of 1820’s. Furthermore, the high amount of commercialization was initiated in the Australian dairy industry in the year of 1900’s. It is also stated that refrigerator and electricity have profited in the 19^th century because milk could be used and stored in different seasons. The new technology and innovation have made dairy farming quicker and the constant market as farmers can produce milk from cows with equipment rather than hand. This new technology also aids to track the herds and utilizing a gazing technique for improving the health of cows.  

On the other side, Howard et al. (2015) evaluated that Australian climate with natural resources is favorable for the dairy industry and it could be beneficial for Nestle in terms of gaining profits. There are different dairy farms in the coastal fields that affected the Nestle. The key coastal zones have an environmental structure for growth in this industry. The dairy industry is leading sector in Australian retail industry with a different face, view, and market. The national dairy herd is 1.51 million of cows with average herd size are of 261 cows. Moreover, the farm gate production worth is $3.7 billion with the construction of 28% of drinking milk, 5% of whole milk powder and 26% of skim milk and buttermilk powder. There are about 42000 people who work in the Australian dairy industry that can be advantageous for Nestle Company. Furthermore, the annual per capita utilization of cheese is 13.4 kg and milk is103 liters. The industry has further grown internationally as milk is exported in Indonesia, Japan, China, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Government’s approach

As per the view of Gollnow et al. (2014), the Australian government is emphasized on the advanced technology, food, and environmental alteration, and organizing soil and natural resources. The government has less interference with price decided by farmers and returns of dairy farmers. This is advantageous for Nestle for gaining profits. The lack of initiatives and lack of education offered as well as inadequate training is an indication of offering inadequate funds by the government. Hence, the government should offer the fund in the industries for farmers to make utilization of new technology that can enhance the dairy sector.

On the other hand, McMillan et al. (2016) stated that the farmer should be aware regarding the significance of water and soil that could be practiced as natural resources. The training and education should be offered for farmers and workers to be aware of environmental alteration and food sources. Hence, Nestle should focus on the development of dairy products that aids to generate economic benefits. It is analyzed that the dairy industry focuses on a lucrative company that helps to enhance the skills and investments in the industry. Hence, Nestle should invest more to attain the goals of the company.

Pressure on small farmers

As per the view of Gijsbers et al. (2016), the key issue in the dairy industry is the potential of increasing the skilled manpower. The mounting demand for dairy can struggle with skilled manpower because there could be a limited number of people with feasible skills. The industry should train more individuals for different farms. It is stated that small farms are being mislaid and leading farms are taking their position, hence Nestle may need of more manpower to continue smoothly. The increasing demand for milk products and globalization may generate the demand for more employees in Nestle. 

Uncertain prices

According to Rowlings et al. (2016), the price offered in the market by different companies is displaying as the unstable dairy industry. The price offered in the market by Nestle is flaunting due to the unstable dairy industry. The farmers are pleased with their own business as compared to an improvement of the dairy industry. The different prices offered to the large and small company does seem to impact the global market rate. The structural alterations and lack of government in such issues have an impact on the dairy industry. The vagueness of structural alteration in the dairy industry may create complexity for Nestle such as price range offered to farmers through the processor of milk and constant transformation of supplies will create sometimes hurdle for it.  

Literature review

Tactics for difficult times

On the other side, Scholz-Romero et al. (2015) evaluated that the tactics of complex times emphasize on complex seasonal circumstances that could impact on farmers. Dairy Australia provides farmers with charity in order to improve the capabilities in around the difficult times. Hence, Nestle can offer the one-in-one backing for an independent advisor to farmers in order to development. Nestle can also provide education, workshops, and training & services for farmers. It is also stated that dairy Australia believes in supporting the farmers. It could be beneficial for Nestle in terms of support their business and families of farmers.

In the current business scenario, Nestle is not competent for using the advanced technology in the dairy industry of Australia. It does not have capabilities for endorsing the training programs. But, at the same time, this investigation is beneficial for creating the understanding about the effects of globalization on farming industry and main focuses of Australian farmers.

For completing this project, the learner has used secondary information that is gathered through magazines, books, journals, newspaper articles, websites, and different other sources. There are a high amount of secondary resources that are gathered in terms of obtaining the authentic and reliable outcomes. The gap is generating while a learner has a vast amount of facts and figures regarding the same research concern. But, the latest information has been presented in this project. The paid version of information is not gathered by learner because of financial and timing circumstances. Inadequate information may generate the theory and model. It may also affect the quality of the investigation (Sinclair, et. al., 2015). Because of the existence of a gap, the learner would not be competent for completing the research according to the expected level.

As per the qualitative research, research question would be prepared by the research scholar, in which all questions should be based on the research matter. Afterward, research scholar will select the appropriate topic of the research study according to their interest and evaluates the various sites towards research matter. After that, the investigator will critically analyze the existing situation and enhances their theoretical knowledge regarding research concern to obtain the valid and reliable outcome (Buehring, et. al., 2017).

On the basis of the above chart, it could be assessed that hypothesis and a theory would be produced by the research scholar in the initial stage. Afterward, research design would be prepared by the investigator. Afterward, the investigator will select appropriate sites and relevant research dilemma. Subsequently, data would be gathered and assessed through various techniques by the research scholar. For achieving the aim and objectives of research and attain the consistent outcome, research scholar would assess the findings (Scarsbrook, and Melland, 2015).

Aim and objectives of the current research could be attained by practicing the numerous sources like an annual report, offline and online websites, government publications and academic journals. For supporting the primary data, the investigator will implement this technique because it will enhance the consistency of research result (Scholz-Romero, et. al., 2015).

Quantitative data analysis process

With respect to the above chart, it is demonstrated that the research scholar will initially generate the information. After that, appropriate information would be chosen by the research scholar from several options. For evaluating the data, the investigator will gain understanding about data frequencies, mean and recoding. Along this way, certain techniques would be selected by the research scholar to analyze the data such as crosstabs and statistics. Research scholar will utilize Ms-excel software to illustrate the data through various types of graphs, table, and chart. Subsequently, the investigator will assess the outcome and interpret it in an appropriate manner (Opie, et. al., 2018). Hence, this technique will assist the research scholar to achieve the aim and objectives of the research study in targeted time.

Chosen research design

In this research, quantitative research design would be used by a researcher for gathering the numeric information regarding “Nestle company producing kitkat and focusing on Australian of age group 18-24”. It would be selected as compared to qualitative research design as quantitative information provides the depths and primary information about the research concern. Quantitative data would be collected via survey through questionnaire and interview.

Chose data analysis method

In this research, quantitative data analysis method will be used to assess the gathered numeric information regarding research issue. For assessing the quantitative data, statistical data analysis technique would be selected. This technique would enable a researcher to assess the data via mean, mode, median, regression and correlation. Furthermore, Ms-excel software would be used for presenting the information through bar chart, graph and column diagram.

Approaches to validity and reliability

In this research study, the inductive approach would be applied by the research scholar due to the subjective nature of the research dilemma. This technique is imperative as, it facilitates the investigator to increase the reliability and consistency of the investigation and also supports to make conceptual and theoretical aspects related with research matter i.e. factors influencing the customer towards Kitkat of Nestle in Dairy industry of Australia.

The validity of the data is illustrated as the level wherein the feasibility of the investigation could be evaluated through quantitative information. For evaluating the challenges in the dairy industry of Australia, research scholar would adopt the survey through a questionnaire. One more technique is the reliability of data that could be executed by the research scholar to evaluate the consistency of the research outcome (Scarsbrook, and Melland, 2015). This quantitative data is evaluated by a literature review that increases the consistency and trustworthiness of the research study in a relevant and effective way.

Pressure on small farmers

Sampling and sample size

Probability sampling technique would be adopted by the research scholar because it offers similar opportunities to their research candidates for providing their understanding and opinion with respect to research concern. Therefore, this technique could be effective for decreasing the partialities from survey through a questionnaire (Tierney, et. al., 2015). For accomplishing the survey, research scholar will select 50 employees who engaged in the operation department of Nestle. Due to the implementation of the close-ended questionnaire in current research, this approach could be effective as it will enable the research scholar to attain consistent and valid outcome within least time.

In this investigation, the non-probability sampling approach would be practiced by the research scholar to perform the research study because of qualitative-based research dilemma. On the other hand, execution of the open-ended questionnaire in an interview would take more time and money consuming (Opie, et. al., 2018). Furthermore, 10 marketing managers will be chosen from Nestle Company for conducting an interview that utilizes technology in milk processing operation.

Data collection method

For performing the research study, primary data collection technique would be practiced by the research scholar. This technique of data collection would enable the research scholar to gather the enormous information from specified research participants and this information could be accumulated by survey through a questionnaire. This approach could be profitable to enhance the consistency and trustworthiness of the result as; it provides new and advances information with respect to factor influencing the Nestle in dairy industry of Australia (Scarsbrook, and Melland, 2015).  

Variables specifications

Research scholar would practice two types of variables which are dependent and independent variables. Dependent variables are KitKat product of Nestle whereas, independent variables factors affecting consumer buying behavior.

During the research study, research scholar could face several challenges related to research matter. These challenges are lack of cost, time constraints with inadequate resources. Furthermore, conducting the survey through questionnaire and sampling, various problems are confronted by the research scholar. Hence, research scholar has responsibility for maintaining the secrecy of research candidates. The result of the research study could be affected by these limitations (Tierney, et. al., 2015).  

Gantt chart is beneficial for presenting the time schedule of activities that would be performed. In this research, gathering data via observation and interview will take more time as compared to implementing other activities.

Conclusion

From the above discussion, it can be concluded that Australian farmers doing well with dairy farming. Furthermore, globalization has created an effect in the dairy industry. Nestle can also provide education, workshops, and training & services for farmers in the Australian dairy industry. It can be summarised that the methodology of the research is a combination of approaches, philosophies, and strategies. Moreover, both qualitative and quantitative research design will be practiced by an investigator to obtain the reliable result with regards to facts affecting the dairy Australia. The researcher would require 183 days to perform each practice in a methodological manner.
